What Game Wednesday

Today I am starting a fun weekly series of how to Play The OT Way with different games!

Today’s game is Let’s Go Fishin’ and I’m going to explain some amazing ways to play with this game.

First way to play is the Standard way out of the box. Turn on the game, I have child use fishing rods to “catch” the fish. Make sure they are holding the base of the rod so the line is “swinging” this adds an extra challenge** to lining up for the catch.

**TIP** If it is too hard for your child have them hold the line part so it is more stable.

Fine Motor Strengthening Way: Use tongs to place fish in or take out of the game. The game could turned off to make it easier or turned on to make it more challenging.

Color Sorting/Recognition Way: Play one of the above ways and have child place the color on the corresponding colored sheet of paper. Another way to work on colors is to call out which color the child is to take out.

  • Writing Way: Place washi tape with letters, words, numbers, shapes etc. on the bottom of the fish. Play one of the above ways and then have child look on the bottom to draw, write or say what’s on the bottom of the fish.

What are some ways you can think of to play Let’s Go Fishin’ game drop it in the comments!
